Scheduling
Voice lessons are available at my studio in West Bloomfield. Most students take a one hour lesson per week, though special arrangements may be made to take fewer or more frequent lessons. Lessons can be arranged on a week-to-week basis or with a standing appointment.
Availability
I am not accepting new students at this time as the studio is full. Please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to refer you to another teacher.
Tuition
As of September 2, 2008 tuition rates are increasing to:
½ hour Lesson.........$25
1 hour Lesson..........$40
Payment is expected at the time of the lesson or may be paid for in advance by cash or check. Students must give at least 24 hours notice if a lesson needs to be cancelled and/or rescheduled, except in cases of illness. I have the utmost respect for the time of my students and their families and ask the same courtesy.
Curriculum
As a Voice Teacher, my goal is to help students find their best potential, their best sound. I encourage my students to embrace their own unique sound and I will provide them with the skills and knowledge to produce it healthily.
I accept students of every level of musicianship from beginning to advanced. Lessons are individualized and based on the students goals for improvement.
Repertoire from a variety of musical styles, pieces selected based on students goals: Classical (Opera, Operetta, Art Songs), Sacred (Oratorio, music of worship), Musical Theatre, Jazz, Folk
Vocal Technique and use of Breath: proper approach to tone, use of vocal registers, placement of sound, use of the soft palate, breath management and technique, phrasing, relaxation techniques and performance practice
Diction: Using IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), use of text and text emphasis, pronunciation and rules of pronunciation of foreign languages (Italian, German, French, Spanish, Latin and Hebrew)
